Olvos Luxury Suites Mykonos Review: A Pet-Friendly Off-Season Retreat with Private Pools & Stunning Aegean Views

By Crazy Daisy Travels

I’ve always heard that Mykonos is an island of glam and parties. But if you’re anything like me—especially if you’re traveling with a furry friend—you might want a calmer, more laid-back experience. So when I spotted amazing off-season flight deals on Black Friday, I couldn’t resist booking Olvos Luxury Suites in Mykonos for a February getaway. Off-season? Yes, please! Less crowd, more peace.

Why Olvos?
First, I got a Black Friday rate that landed around $200 a night (a steal for a five-star hotel in Mykonos). Second, Olvos Luxury Suites just looked dreamy—think private pools, hot tubs, and that iconic Cycladic design perfect for Instagram moments. Did everything turn out as dreamy as the pictures? Let’s dive in.

Quick Facts

  • Hotel Name & Rating: Olvos Luxury Suites (5-Star)
  • Location: About 500 meters from Mykonos Town (prepare for a workout on the uphill return!)
  • Rates: Around $170/night off-season; can be higher during peak season
  • Ideal For: Couples, solo adventurers, digital nomads (with or without pets)
  • Pet Policy: Super dog-friendly staff—though no dedicated pet amenities like bowls or beds

Arrival & Check-In

Before my trip, Olvos reached out to confirm if I needed anything special (cue Daisy, my little canine companion). They even set up a private taxi from the airport for €35. No confusion at arrivals—our driver spotted Daisy and knew instantly who he was picking up. Ten minutes later, we were at the hotel.

First Impressions
Check-in was a breeze. Chris at reception was all smiles, handing over a local map and pointing out restaurants that were still open in the off-season (very important, given that many Mykonos spots go on “winter break”). Daisy got a rock-star welcome with plenty of pats and “awws”—I love when hotels truly embrace pets.

The Suite: A Mini Greek Villa

We booked the “Delos Room” and, wow, stepping in felt like entering a chic, minimalist cave. The hallway is carved into the rock, adding a dramatic flourish. Inside the suite, it’s all white-washed walls, soft lighting, and a king-size bed that practically begs you to flop down for a nap.

Amenities & Comfort

  • Tech & Wi-Fi: A tablet controls the lights and temperature, and the Wi-Fi kept up with my remote work demands (even by the pool!).
  • Outdoor Area: A gorgeous private patio with a swimming pool (unheated in February, brrr!) and a hot tub. Let’s just say I spent a lot of evenings unwinding under the stars.
  • Bathroom: Modern fittings, greek vibes – not so great water pressure.

Facilities & Services

Because it was the off-season, the main on-site restaurant wasn’t operating. But breakfast was delivered to the suite each morning, piping hot, right on time, and ordered via WhatsApp (so easy!).

Concierge Perks

  • They handled everything for me via text: airport pickups, bike rentals, housekeeping schedules, and even local dinner suggestions.
  • The staff was so flexible. If I slept in, I could just message and say, “Hey, can I get breakfast in 30 minutes?” and it would arrive without any fuss.

Working Remotely
If you’re a digital nomad, you’ll appreciate that the suite’s Wi-Fi is strong enough for video calls. I even did some calls outside on the patio, which is a sweet change from the usual home-office routine.

On-Site Dining (Off-Season Reality)

Normally, they have a full restaurant, but it was closed. No worries, though. They served hearty breakfasts right to my room (scrambled eggs, coffee, pastries—the works!). For lunch and dinner, I’d either walk into town or order from Wolt (kind of like Uber Eats). The staff gave me a heads-up on which local places were actually open before tourist season kicks in.

Pet-Friendliness

Here’s where Olvos Luxury Suites won my heart. Every morning when they delivered breakfast, Daisy practically danced to the door—she knew she’d get greeted like a VIP. While they don’t specifically provide dog beds or bowls, Daisy doesn’t really use them anyway. For us, the bigger concern was whether people would accept a dog around the property. Thankfully, they loved her.

Island Tips for Dog Owners

  • Be prepared for hills—Mykonos is hilly and sidewalks can be hit-or-miss.
  • If your pup’s not used to big inclines, consider renting a bike or moped to spare yourself the uphill trek.
  • Winter beaches are wonderfully empty, giving Daisy room to run around and splash in the water.

Off-Season vs. Peak Season

Traveling in February meant fewer crowds, more authenticity, and better deals (like my $170/night rate). On the flip side, the weather can be unpredictable—one minute, it’s T-shirt weather, the next, you’re grabbing a sweater. Also, many Mykonos hotspots shut down from late fall to early spring.

If you want a bit more buzz—restaurants, shops, nightlife—but still hate suffocating crowds, aim for April or October. Locals said the party scene in July and August can be intense, with the island overrun by cruise ship day-trippers and tourists, so keep that in mind if quiet vibes are your thing.

Location & Accessibility

Olvos sits roughly 500 meters from Mykonos Town’s waterfront. The walk down is scenic and quick, but the journey back is a mini workout (imagine multiple hills and steps). If you’ve got mobility concerns, or just hate sweating on vacation, budget for taxis or check out renting a scooter or car. My round-trip ride to the airport was only 10 minutes, so it’s super convenient from a transport standpoint.

Pricing & Value

I snagged an incredible Black Friday deal at around $170/night—unheard of for a five-star suite in a famously pricey island like Mykonos. In high season, these suites definitely run higher, but even then, the private hot tub and personalized service might make it worth the splurge.

Pros & Cons

Pros

  • Picturesque Suites: White-washed walls, private pool, private terrace and that dreamy hot tub
  • Staff & Service: Friendly, bilingual (English was excellent), and always ready to help via WhatsApp
  • Pet-Friendly: No hassle, no drama—just lots of cuddles for Daisy
  • Quiet Off-Season: Great for relaxing or remote work with fewer tourist crowds

Cons

  • Hill Climb: A steep walk back from the town could be a deal-breaker for some
  • Closed Facilities (Winter): The restaurant was closed; you’ll rely on room service or going out
  • Unheated Pool: If you’re visiting in cooler months, it’s purely for decoration unless you’re braver than me

Final Thoughts

Would I return? Absolutely! I’d probably aim for April or October next time—slightly warmer weather but still avoiding the peak-season frenzy. Olvos Luxury Suites is the kind of place that blends the classic Cycladic look with truly five-star pampering. Plus, they treated Daisy like a little princess, which always wins me over. If you’re looking for a peaceful hideaway in Mykonos (with some serious Instagram potential), this is your spot. Just pack comfy shoes for those hills and prepare to fall in love with Greek hospitality.

Bonus Tip for Pet Parents

If you plan to explore the island’s beaches or do day trips by ferry, off-season can be wonderful—fewer dogs around, less stress, many locals adore seeing pups trotting through the quiet streets plus we had the beach to ourselves. Always ask the hotel staff about the most pet-friendly spots; they often have insider tips on hidden coves and scenic paths.

Safe travels (and tail wags from Daisy)!

Friends, today didn’t quite go as planned… but it started out deliciously! 🍽️ I just discovered that I LOVE pancakes 🥞 (who knew?!). Mom never eats them at home, so vacation Daisy is officially a pancake girl now. Yes, please! After fueling up, we hopped on the bike and set off for adventure! 🚴‍♀️ But wow… the wind was crazy 🌬️❄️—so cold, even for a fluffy pup like me! But your girl is here to show you all the best things you can do with your dog while traveling, so off we went! 🏖️ First stop: The beach! And guess what? I made a new friend! 🐕💛 She was just roaming around, so we ran and played together for a bit. Then, we tried to head up to the Mykonos Lighthouse, but friends… when I tell you the wind almost blew us away, I mean it! 💨 We were only a few minutes away, but it was way too dangerous. Mom and I don’t need a hospital visit in Mykonos, so we made the smart choice—back to the beach for some chill time before heading back to the hotel. Lesson of the day? Pancakes are amazing, beaches are the best, and sometimes the adventure is in the detour! 🐾✨ 👉 Follow along for more luxury dog-friendly travel, tips, and fun adventures! #shihtzu #TravelWithDogs #DogFriendlyTravel #LuxuryPetTravel #MykonosAdventures #DogLover #WanderlustPup
