Best Dog-Friendly Hotels in Bordeaux
France
26 dog-friendly luxury hotels.
Where can my dog actually go?
Bordeaux is the most dog-friendly French city we've researched. Twenty-six of the thirty-one hotels Fora lists here take dogs, and three of them let the dog do more than sit in the room. Mercure Château Chartrons lets dogs into the restaurant, bar and breakfast and has a 400 square metre fenced garden for off-lead time. Mercure Bordeaux Aéroport gives a VIP kit and has a dog menu in the restaurant for EUR 8 a night. Mercure Gare Atlantic welcomes dogs in its bistro with a treat every visit.
The city itself is easy. The Garonne quays run for miles and take dogs on a lead, the Chartrons promenade is flat and shaded, and the Jardin Public admits leashed dogs and has a fenced off-lead area inside, which is rare for a French city park. Parc Bordelais is stricter, so check before you rely on it.
Fees are modest by luxury standards. Most four-stars charge EUR 12 to EUR 25 a night, the Mondrian EUR 35, and Alfred Port-Vieux style boutiques charge nothing at all in some cases. The InterContinental takes medium dogs only and wants notice.
