Find a vet for your dog's travel paperwork
The hardest part of travelling with a dog isn't the hotel. It's finding a vet on Boxing Day to give a tapeworm tablet and stamp a passport. So we found them. 197 vets, online booking first.

On the road in Europe
Heading into the UK, Ireland, Malta, Finland or Norway? Your dog needs a tapeworm tablet from a vet 24 to 120 hours before you arrive, stamped in the passport. Any vet can do it. Here’s who to book, city by city and port by port, with what it costs in each country.
Your town isn’t listed?
Open Google Maps around your hotel and search for a vet. Any small-animal vet can give the tablet and stamp the passport. Ring a few days ahead, tell them the date and time you’re arriving, and book it. Don’t leave it to the day before, especially over Christmas.
Starting from scratch
Microchip, then rabies, then wait 21 days
Everything else depends on getting those in the right order. Your vet can issue the pet passport the same day as the rabies jab, but your dog can’t travel until 21 days after it.
Every rule, in order, with the official source →Before you book
This is a research tool, not the last word. We checked every listing against the vet’s own website or booking page on 19 October 2026. Opening hours and prices change, so confirm with the vet when you book.
