Where can my dog actually go?
The Costa Brava has one hotel that makes the whole trip worthwhile for a dog. Hotel La Malcontenta near Palamós is a 14-room farmhouse in a protected landscape, takes dogs of any size for free, and sits a 15-minute walk through pine woods from the undeveloped Platja de Castell. Five hotels made the catalogue in all. Hostal de la Gavina at S'Agaró allows dogs everywhere except the pool and restaurants. Zel Costa Brava at Tossa runs the Meliá dog programme with a bed and bowls.
Beaches follow the Catalan pattern: banned in summer, open from November to March at Tossa, Begur and Lloret, with a fenced year-round dog beach at Malgrat de Mar and Platja del Riuet at L'Estartit. The Camí de Ronda coastal path runs the length of the coast and takes leashed dogs all year.
Camiral, Elisabeth by the Sea, Finca Victoria, Aiguablava, Vistabella and Rosamar Maxim all refuse. La Bionda in Begur will consider an exception if you ask.

- Beaches
- Town beaches ban dogs in summer. Tossa, Begur and Lloret open to dogs from November to March. Malgrat de Mar has a fenced year-round dog beach, L'Estartit has Platja del Riuet.
- Camí de Ronda
- The coastal footpath takes leashed dogs year-round. The S'Agaró and Llafranc to Calella stretches are the prettiest.
- Weight limits
- Marsol in Lloret takes dogs under 7 kg only. La Malcontenta, Zel and La Gavina take any size.
- Seasonal closures
- Isabella's Llafranc closes part of the winter. Vistabella closes 12 October to 10 April but refuses dogs anyway.

- Free at La Malcontenta, EUR 10 at Marsol, EUR 35 at La Gavina, EUR 50 at Zel, EUR 60 plus cleaning at Isabella's.
- Best walks
- Camí de Ronda around S'Agaró, Llafranc to the Sant Sebastià lighthouse, the pine path from La Malcontenta to Platja de Castell, and Tossa to Cala Giverola.
