Where can my dog actually go?
Ibiza at the top end is properly dog-friendly, which surprised us. Sixteen of the twenty-eight hotels Fora lists here take dogs, and several treat the dog as a guest rather than a problem. Nobu Ibiza Bay has a canine menu written with island vets, grooming, sitting and a concierge who books dog beach spots. BLESS at Playa d'en Bossa hands over a Paws pack with a bed, tag, chef's dog menu and a professional walker. Petunia in the quiet south-west leaves toys and treats in the room.
The beach is the thing to plan around. Almost every beach on the island bans dogs from Easter to the end of October, with fines from EUR 100 upwards. Three stretches stay open all year: Ses Figueres at Talamanca, Es Viver between Ibiza Town and Playa d'en Bossa, and the des Riu beach at Santa Eulària. If your dog needs sand and sea every day, book near one of those.
Weight limits run small here. Most of the good hotels cap at 10 kg, ME Ibiza at 6 kg, Aethos-style places at 5 kg. If you're travelling with a bigger dog, ENDLSS at Cala de Bou takes any size.
