Best Pet-Friendly Hotels in Las Vegas

United States

21 dog-friendly luxury hotels.

Where can my dog actually go?

Las Vegas is the most pet-friendly city on the Strip's own terms and one of the least on a dog's. We researched 29 Strip hotels through our booking partner and 21 take dogs, which is a far better ratio than most European cities. The catch is that almost every one keeps your dog to the room, the elevators and a patch of turf outside. No dog joins you at dinner anywhere here. Nevada bars dogs from indoor restaurants and the casino floor is off limits on every property, so the question isn't whether a hotel takes dogs, it's how far the walk is to the relief area and whether there's any real grass at the end of it.

Two programmes run the Strip. MGM Resorts (Bellagio, ARIA, Vdara, Park MGM, Mandalay Bay, MGM Grand, Luxor, New York-New York) takes two dogs up to a combined 100 lb, charges USD 50 to USD 150 a night per dog depending on the hotel, and lets you leave the dog crated in the room. Caesars PetStay (Caesars Palace, Nobu, Paris, Planet Hollywood, Horseshoe, The LINQ) takes two dogs up to 50 lb each for USD 75 to USD 100 a night plus a refundable USD 100 deposit, gives a mat, bowls and treats, and must be booked by phone. Resorts World (Conrad, Crockfords, Hilton) caps at a combined 40 lb. The Cosmopolitan has no weight limit at all, and the Four Seasons takes dogs under 25 lb free.

If you want one answer: Vdara. No casino, smoke-free, its own fenced dog park across the valet, and a dog menu. The Cosmopolitan is the pick for a big dog, with two fenced runs on site. Luxor and New York-New York are the budget picks with dog parks and USD 50 fees. From May to September the pavement hits temperatures that burn paws by mid-morning, so plan every walk for dawn and after dark.

Before you go

What happens when you get there

Two programmes
MGM Resorts hotels take two dogs to a combined 100 lb and book online. Caesars PetStay takes two dogs to 50 lb each, requires a phone booking, and adds a refundable USD 100 nightly deposit. Resorts World caps at a combined 40 lb. Check which company runs your hotel before you fall for it.
The heat
From May to September, Strip pavement reaches temperatures that burn paws within minutes by mid-morning. Walk at dawn and after dark, carry water, and use the hotel relief area for anything in between. Booties help on the concrete.
No dogs at dinner
Nevada health rules keep dogs out of indoor restaurants, and patios are at the operator's discretion. No Strip hotel lets dogs into a restaurant or bar. Use the in-room dog menus at Vdara, ARIA, Park MGM, Luxor and New York-New York instead.
Casino floors
Dogs can't cross the gaming floor at any hotel except when passing through on a lead to reach the exit. At the big properties ask for a room near the relief-area exit, or the walk can take ten minutes each way.
Where the grass is
Vdara Dog Park is the best on the Strip, open to guests of ARIA and Bellagio too. Cosmopolitan, Luxor and New York-New York have fenced runs. Four Seasons has real grass. For a proper run, Sunset Park by the airport and Charlie Frias Park on Decatur are ten minutes by car.
Leaving the dog
MGM hotels allow a crated dog alone in the room. Caesars and Resorts World require a crate during housekeeping and when you're out. Four Seasons doesn't allow it at all. Most hotels arrange sitters, and MGM Grand and New York-New York run a Doggie Butler who checks in and texts you a photo.
Best walks
The CityCenter footpaths from Vdara to the Bellagio fountains at dawn, The Park promenade beside T-Mobile Arena, the traffic-free LINQ Promenade, and off the Strip, Sunset Park's dog park and the Wetlands Park trails.
When to go
October to April. May to September is too hot for a dog on the Strip outside the first and last hour of daylight.
