Lucerne gives you two holidays in one: a lakeside city with a medieval bridge, and a ring of hilltop and lakeshore resorts a boat ride away. Thirty-six hotels take dogs. Bürgenstock funicular
Dogs ride the funicular from Kehrsiten on a ticket. The resort's own paths and the Felsenweg cliff walk take dogs on a lead.
City walks
The Reuss riverbank, Chapel Bridge, Musegg wall and the lakeside promenade to the Lido are all open to leashed dogs.
Restaurants
Art Deco Montana allows dogs everywhere except the Kitchen Club and kitchen. Hôtel des Balances and Grand Hotel National allow dogs in bar areas. Most others keep dogs out of dining rooms.
