Best Dog-Friendly Hotels in Nice

France

46 dog-friendly luxury hotels.

Where can my dog actually go?

Nice is the deepest dog-friendly bench on the Riviera. Forty-six hotels in our catalogue take dogs, from the palaces on the Promenade to the small hotels behind the Cours Saleya, and a good number of them go past the fee. The Negresco leaves a blanket, basket and two bowls in the room. Anantara Plaza adds a bed, a toy and a towel. The West End and the Brice Garden both run a VIP, Very Important Pet welcome with treats. Boscolo and the Palais de la Méditerranée let dogs into the bar.

The thing to know is the beach. Nice's main beaches ban dogs in the bathing season, so the Promenade des Anglais is a lead walk rather than a swim. The Colline du Château above the old town is the best green climb, the Promenade du Paillon runs inland from the sea for a shaded stroll, and Parc Phoenix by the airport has real lawns.

Fees are sane for a five-star city. Most four-stars charge EUR 10 to EUR 30 a night, the Negresco EUR 25, the Hôtel du Couvent EUR 80. Mama Shelter, Maison Durante and Best Western Masséna charge nothing.

Green space
Colline du Château above the old town, the Promenade du Paillon through the centre, and Parc Phoenix by the airport all take leashed dogs.
Trams and buses
Small dogs in a carrier ride free on Lignes d'Azur. Larger dogs need a ticket and a muzzle.

Terrace tables in the old town and along the Cours Saleya are routinely fine with a dog. Inside, ask first.
Fees
EUR 10 to EUR 30 a night is typical. The Negresco is EUR 25, Anantara EUR 50, Hôtel du Couvent EUR 80. Several hotels charge nothing.
Best walks

April to June and September to October. High summer is hot on the Promenade and the beaches are closed to dogs anyway.
