Where can my dog actually go?

Palm Beach County is better for a dog than the island's manicured reputation suggests, mostly because of two stretches of sand. Jupiter has 2.5 miles of free off-lead beach along A1A, and Boca Raton has Bark Beach, a permit-only section of Spanish River Park with set hours. Thirteen hotels on our list take dogs: one on Palm Beach island, six in West Palm Beach, four in Delray Beach and two in Boca Raton.

What separates them is not the fee, it's how much the hotel tells you about where the dog can be. Palm House is the clearest: dogs are welcome on the outdoor dining terrace, on the floor and off the furniture, and not at the pool. The Yacht Club and the Bungalows at The Boca Raton lay on a bed, bowls and a daily tuck-in service, then say plainly that dogs aren't in any of the resort's restaurants or shops, or at the Beach Club. Crane's Beach House in Delray keeps dogs out of its fenced pool areas but lets a crate-trained dog stay in the suite while you're out. Most of the West Palm Beach hotels publish a fee and a weight and nothing else, so ask about the pool and the restaurant before you book.

Fees are mostly flat per stay. USD 125 at Delta West Palm Beach, USD 145 at The Ben, USD 150 at The Belgrove, The Seagate and Hotel AKA, and USD 195 at The Boca Raton. Palm House charges USD 125 per dog per stay and Crane's Beach House USD 60 a night. Weight caps matter more here than anywhere else on the bill. The Seagate takes one dog up to 25 lbs (11.3 kg), Crane's and The Boca Raton stop at 35 lbs (15.9 kg), Palm House at 40 lbs (18.1 kg), and The Ben, The Belgrove and The Ray at 50 lbs (22.7 kg). For a big dog, book Canopy by Hilton West Palm Beach Downtown or Delta West Palm Beach, which both go to 75 lbs (34 kg). Hotel AKA West Palm states no weight limit at all.

The honest gaps. Palm House is the only hotel we list on Palm Beach island itself, and The Breakers, the grandest name there, states that pets are not permitted at the resort. We have nothing listed yet in Jupiter, Palm Beach Gardens, Manalapan or on Singer Island, where the Palm Beach Marriott Singer Island doesn't take pets. So the free dog beach at Jupiter is a drive from every hotel on this page.

Daisy's picks

Where Daisy would book

  1. 01
    Palm House

Dogs are welcome on the outdoor dining terrace, on the floor and off the furniture, which is the clearest written access on Palm Beach island. Two dogs up to 40 lbs (18.1 kg), USD 125 per dog per stay. Dogs aren't at the pool and can't be left alone in the room.

USD 125 · max 40 lbs (about 18.1 kg) kg

  2. 02
Yacht Club at The Boca Raton

A plush bed, bowls, a daily tuck-in service, the resort's walking trails and pet relief stations, with a sitter bookable through the resort. Dogs up to 35 lbs (15.9 kg), USD 195 one-time. Dogs aren't in any restaurant or shop or at the Beach Club, so this is a comfort stay, not a dine-with-your-dog one.

USD 195 · max 35 lbs (about 15.9 kg) kg

  3. 03
Crane's Beach House Boutique Hotel & Luxury Villas

The one hotel here that puts an unattended rule in writing in the dog's favour: a crate-trained dog may be left in the suite, though it's discouraged. One dog up to 35 lbs (15.9 kg) in a ground-floor suite, USD 60 a night. Dogs aren't inside the fenced pool areas.

USD 60 · max 35 lbs (about 15.9 kg) kg

Before you go

What happens when you get there

Jupiter dog beach
Off-lead is allowed along 2.5 miles of beach on A1A, from crossover 25 at the south end to crossover 59 at the north. Dogs aren't allowed in the lifeguarded areas, in Palm Beach County Natural Areas or in Town of Jupiter parks. Leash up from the car to the sand, at the crossovers, at the water fountains and around small children. There are free bags at the crossovers and no fee or permit is mentioned.
Bark Beach, Boca Raton
This is one stretch of one park, between lifeguard towers 18 and 20 at Spanish River Park, not Boca Raton's beaches in general. It's open seven days a week from 7 to 9am, and from 3pm to sunset in standard time or 5pm to sunset in daylight saving. Every dog needs a permit, with two dogs per person at most. As of 1 October 2026 the visitor option is a three-day pass at USD 20 for consecutive days, against USD 630 a year for non-residents.
Other beaches
We haven't been able to confirm the rule for dogs on the Town of Palm Beach's beaches or on the county's other beaches, so we won't guess. Check the town or county page for the beach you have in mind before you walk down. Jupiter and Bark Beach are the two with rules we can stand behind.
Brightline
The train between West Palm Beach, Boca Raton, Fort Lauderdale and Miami takes dogs and cats only in a closed, leak-proof carrier no bigger than 17 x 10 x 10 inches, under the seat or on your lap. It's one pet per passenger aged 13 or over, USD 10 on those short hops and USD 45 to or from Orlando, added to the booking at least 10 minutes before departure. In practice that's a small-dog service. A dog that doesn't fit the carrier goes by car.
Weight limits
The Seagate takes one dog up to 25 lbs (11.3 kg). Crane's Beach House and The Boca Raton cap at 35 lbs (15.9 kg), Palm House at 40 lbs (18.1 kg), and The Ben, The Belgrove and The Ray at 50 lbs (22.7 kg). Canopy and Delta in West Palm Beach take dogs up to 75 lbs (34 kg). Canopy is dogs only, no cats.
Fees
USD 60 a night at Crane's Beach House. Flat per stay it's USD 125 at Delta, USD 145 at The Ben, USD 150 at The Belgrove, The Seagate and Hotel AKA, and USD 195 at The Boca Raton. Palm House is USD 125 per dog per stay. Canopy charges USD 75 per pet and The Ray USD 150, and neither says whether that's per stay or per night, so ask.
Terms to confirm
Opal Grand's own policy says the fee is disclosed at booking. The figures we hold are USD 75 per dog per night and a 30 lb (13.6 kg) limit, so confirm both with the resort when you book, and ask about a deposit. Do the same at Hilton West Palm Beach, where we hold USD 75 per room per stay and no published weight limit.
Eating out
Clematis Street and CityPlace in West Palm Beach and Atlantic Avenue in Delray Beach are the walkable districts with outdoor seating all year. Proper Grit in West Palm Beach, Deck 84 in Delray Beach and U Tiki Beach in Jupiter are named locally as dog-friendly. Ring ahead, as each restaurant sets its own rule.
Best walks
The Lake Trail on Palm Beach island runs along the Intracoastal and is the waterfront walk for anyone staying at Palm House or across the bridge in West Palm Beach. Lake Ida Park in Delray Beach has a designated off-lead dog park. Okeeheelee Park and the boardwalk paths at Grassy Waters Preserve are the bigger outings by car from West Palm Beach. John D. MacArthur Beach State Park allows leashed pets on its shaded pathways, though whether dogs can go onto its beach isn't stated. Peanut Island Park is reached by a pet-friendly boat shuttle. For sand, it's the 2.5 miles of off-lead beach at Jupiter or Bark Beach at Spanish River Park in Boca Raton.
When to go
The outdoor tables on Clematis Street, at CityPlace and along Atlantic Avenue run all year, so there's no closed season for eating out with a dog. What changes is the time of day. The volunteers who look after Jupiter's dog beach say to bring dogs early or late, when it's less hot and less crowded, and Bark Beach is built the same way, open only from 7 to 9am and again from 3pm to sunset in standard time or 5pm to sunset in daylight saving. Plan beach time for the two ends of the day whatever month you come. The Bark Beach prices on this page are as of 1 October 2026, so check the current figure before you travel.

In West Palm Beach. Canopy by Hilton West Palm Beach Downtown and Delta West Palm Beach both take dogs up to 75 lbs (34 kg), and Delta takes two for a flat USD 125 per stay. Hotel AKA West Palm states no weight limit, so ring them with your dog's size before you book. Avoid The Seagate, which caps at 25 lbs (11.3 kg).

Are dogs allowed on the beach in Palm Beach?+

We haven't been able to confirm the rule for the Town of Palm Beach's own beaches, so check with the town before you go. The two beaches with clear rules are Jupiter, where dogs can be off-lead along 2.5 miles between crossovers 25 and 59, and Bark Beach in Boca Raton, which needs a permit and keeps set hours.

Can visitors use Bark Beach in Boca Raton?+
