“A historic spa resort built around the mineral springs of Solares, now run by Castilla Termal with a thermal pool, summer pool and large landscaped grounds. It sits inland of the bay of Santander, so it works as a first or last night for the Brittany Ferries crossing. The group names Solares as one of only two of its hotels that take dogs. It suits couples who want a proper spa stay without leaving the dog at home.
