The Grasmere lakeshore path is a couple of minutes from the door and the Rydal Water circuit and Loughrigg Terrace are both reachable on foot without touching a road for long.

The Dining Room restaurant and the spa are people only. Dogs stay on the lead in public areas and the grounds, and off the furniture.
