Divani Apollon Palace & Thalasso

Beachfront Riviera resort with genuine warmth and included dog amenities

Daisy's Verdict
Would Daisy stay again? Yes, without hesitation.
Divani Apollon offers a premium beachfront experience where every staff member I encountered was genuinely enthusiastic about Daisy. The included amenities (bed, bowls) feel thoughtful, not token. The Athenian Riviera location is exceptional, the coastal walkway provides stunning morning and evening walks right from the property. It's good pet-friendly luxury, but it doesn't quite reach 9+ territory because the hotel bar restriction feels unnecessary for a well-behaved dog, and you're missing that extra layer of VIP treatment that would push this from good to exceptional.

The hotel

Beachfront Riviera resort with genuine warmth and included dog amenities

Five-star Divani Collection resort on the Athenian Riviera at Vouliagmeni, featuring a private sandy beach, two outdoor pools, and a thalassotherapy spa. Dogs are welcomed with complimentary bed, food bowl, and water bowl included with the pet fee. Excellent beachfront location on the Athens Riviera coastal walkway.

Staff who genuinely adore dogs and show it through action (welcome amenities delivered promptly, water brought without asking). Stunning Riviera location for coastal walks. Included amenities feel thoughtful. Outdoor terrace area for dining is genuinely beautiful when weather cooperates.

What we noticed
Arrival

Two PM arrival after journey from Ireland. Concierge absolutely obsessed with Daisy, bolted through revolving doors. Booked through Crazy Daisy Travels last minute with no direct way to mention bringing the dog. Within minutes of reaching room (which got complimentary upgrade), hotel sent up dog bed, food and water bowls, generous bag of treats. Treats were chef's kiss.

The room

Complimentary upgrade to beachfront room overlooking the Mediterranean. Welcome amenity included dog bed, food bowl, water bowl, generous bag of treats. Room quality is five-star standard. Robes, slippers, handwritten welcome card, fresh fruit. The amenities for Daisy felt as thoughtfully curated as the rest of the room.

Daisy's Note

Request a beachfront room with sea view and balcony if available. Confirm pet-friendly room allocation at booking. Visit slower season for better dog weather and quieter beaches. October recommended.

Worth knowing

Hotel bar isn't pet-friendly. Important note: this bar is essentially part of the lobby, not a formal restaurant with white tablecloths. Should accommodate a well-behaved Shih Tzu but doesn't. EXTREMELY UNUSUAL FOR GREECE, indoor dining is the norm for dogs. Had to sit outside instead. Outdoor area is stunning (views of two pools, live music) but had been raining, weather cool overcast. When you're traveling for ultimate luxury, being relegated to outdoor tables when you'd prefer to be inside feels like a letdown. We were the only ones sitting outside in the cold. This was the only real disappointment. Greek law restricts pets from indoor food-service areas, but exceptions exist at other properties.

Walkability

Daisy had run of terraces and outdoor areas. Beachfront location with coastal walkway directly across provides beautiful morning and evening walks with sea views. October visit (not fan of scorching summer heat) meant beach practically theirs. Daisy off-leash, sand between paws, dramatic cliff-like views. Met a lovely Golden Retriever also staying at property.
