Domes Noruz Chania, Autograph Collection

A beachfront, adults-only resort where dogs don't just stay. They're celebrated.

Daisy's Verdict
Would Daisy stay again? Yes, without hesitation.
Domes Noruz is Daisy's strongest endorsement in this entire catalogue. This is not a hotel where dogs are tolerated. It is one where they become VIP guests from the moment the concierge reaches out before arrival. The personalised Chania walking guide, the luxury welcome kit, the ceremonial check-in with staff greeting Daisy by name, the beach loungers with bell service where she sits like any other guest, watching sunset from the sand with her floaty drying nearby. This is the benchmark for luxury dog hospitality.

Overall recommendation

The highest tier in the collection. Daisy Approved, and the standard every other hotel is measured against.

Best suited for

Couples seeking adults-only calm, beach lovers, and one well-behaved dog up to 15kg.

One thing to know before booking

The pet fee is real: EUR 100 non-refundable cleaning, plus EUR 30 per night. And dogs cannot join the breakfast buffet or the main pool.

Favourite moment

Daisy in her floaty in the sea at sunset, ordering water to her lounger with the same bell the human guests use.

The real stay

Daisy, on the ground.

The hotel

A wellness retreat by the sea, where the dog is the named guest.

Domes Noruz Chania is a Marriott Autograph Collection adults-only beachfront resort on Crete's north coast, near Chania. Three pools, the Soma Spa, a Blue Flag beach with full dog access, and ground-level suites with private plunge pools.

What sets it apart isn't the marble or the views. It's the choreography around the dog. A custom welcome kit with a Domes-branded bandana. Pre-arrival concierge with a dog-friendly Chania guide. Three to four staff greeting Daisy at check-in. A private resort tour. A choice of suite types. Beach loungers with bell service. This is hospitality at the absolute highest level, and the dog is at the centre of it.

What we noticed
Arrival

Pre-arrival communication from the concierge was exceptional. They reached out to ask about Daisy, confirm dietary preferences, and offer a personalised dog-walking guide to Chania. The welcome was ceremonial: three to four staff waiting at reception to greet Daisy, not Pam. Valet-style parking, no fee. A welcome drink (champagne for Pam, fresh water for Daisy), a cold towel, and a check-in form for Daisy confirming she would be "the best girl."

Daisy's Note

Staff greeted Daisy before they greeted us. I quickly realised I was the secondary guest.

The room

The upgrade choice mattered: a single-story suite with a large outdoor area, plunge pool and outdoor bath, or a two-story suite with water views and a balcony bath. We chose single-story for safety, since Daisy might jump a balcony. The right call: more outdoor space, ground-level access, private plunge pool. The pet package was complete, with a luxury dog bed, bowls, a squeaky toy, lead, collar, and the custom Domes bandana.

Daisy's Note

Ask for a ground-level suite with a private plunge pool and direct beach access.

Dining

At dinner Daisy was treated as guest of honour, with attention from staff that made her hyper with joy. Outdoor restaurant and bar areas welcome dogs. The breakfast buffet does not (hygiene), but room service and Wolt delivery fill the gap. The resort even allowed an outside Wolt order onto the suite's outdoor terrace.

Beach & sleep

The Blue Flag beach is the showstopper. Daisy walked straight onto it, settled into a lounger, and ordered water via the bell at every setup, the same bell the human guests use. She had her own floaty for the sea and went swimming, treated exactly like the guests on the next lounger. The gardens are equally part of the experience: shaded paths and outdoor lounges throughout.

Daisy's Note

Travel in May. Avoid late June through August, when the heat is genuinely dangerous for dogs.

Daisy is welcome throughout except the breakfast buffet and the main pool deck. The beach loungers are the highlight: full bell service to your sun bed, water bowls brought without asking, and dogs welcome both on the loungers and in the sea.
