The lane drops through the trees to Fermain Bay, where the cliff path heads north to St Peter Port, about 3 km, or south towards Jerbourg Point. Dogs aren't allowed on Fermain beach itself from 1 May to 30 September, so in summer the path is the walk and the beach is for the cooler months.
