The hotel

Belle-Époque lakefront where dogs dine like guests

Four-star superior Marriott Autograph Collection in a Belle-Époque building on Avenue des Alpes, directly across from Lake Geneva with snow-capped mountain views. Features wooden floors throughout, 45 Grill & Health restaurant, full access for dogs to dining areas, bar, and communal spaces. Dogs in restaurants is not typical for luxury properties in Switzerland. Daisy-tested with absolute top-tier endorsement.

The personalized bus pass (I've never seen a hotel go this far), restaurant and bar access (extraordinary for luxury), the Lake Geneva promenade at her doorstep, and staff that genuinely treated her as a guest.

What we noticed

Arrival

Drove from Italy to Montreux for Christmas holidays. Reception staff greeted Daisy with so much warmth she became a mini-celebrity in the hotel. Pet fee CHF 30/night. Daisy got her own Montreux bus pass with her name printed on it, one of the most adorable and thoughtful touches I've experienced as a dog traveler.

The room

Junior Suite with large king bed and Lake view balcony. Yoga mat included. Dog amenities: dog bed, toy, water bowl. The personalized Montreux bus pass was the signature moment. Balcony has metal fencing, small-dog safety concern. Recommend portable dog fence if you want to keep balcony door open.

Worth knowing

Balcony railings have gaps that could pose safety risk for very small dogs. No on-site dog relief area, use the Lake Geneva promenade (which is steps away, so it works). Non-refundable CHF 60 fee is substantial, but justified by the experience.

Walkability

Lake Geneva promenade is steps away, beautiful lakefront walks with views of Mont-Blanc. Montreux Christmas Market directly across the road. Waterfront promenade for miles. Close to train station for exploring nearby towns. Perfect for dogs.
