“A four star hotel on Iva Vojnovica, on the ridge between Gruz harbour and Lapad bay and roughly fifteen minutes on foot from the Pile Gate. There is a restaurant and a piano bar, a parking garage, and an outdoor pool that runs from the start of May to the start of October. It is a working town hotel rather than a resort, which is exactly what you want if the point of the trip is walking the city. One dog per room is taken for a daily charge.

Why it's in the collection

Gradac Park above Dance is a short walk downhill and is the shadiest green space in the city, with benches over the sea and the Lovrijenac fortress in view. The Lapad bay promenade is about ten minutes the other way, and the garage means you can bring a car for the coast.
