State Street is on the doorstep for a leashed wander, and the paved path along Cabrillo Boulevard takes leashed dogs along the waterfront. For a proper run, Arroyo Burro Beach (Hendry's) has an off-lead stretch and Douglas Family Preserve sits on the bluff above it.
