Medusa Suites Naxos

Aegean beachfront where dogs sit at breakfast and pool lounges

Daisy's Verdict
Would Daisy stay again? Yes, without hesitation.
Medusa Suites is the kind of hotel that redefines what pet-friendly truly means. There's no fee, no nickel-and-diming, no restrictions on outdoor areas. Daisy sat at the breakfast table alongside me until 11am, and that simple gesture of inclusion, treating your dog as a legitimate diner rather than a tolerated animal, sets the tone for the entire stay. Beach access, pool terraces, garden lounging: all genuinely shared with dogs as guests. This is what luxury dog-friendly looks like.

What I care about is whether I can take my dog to breakfast, lunch, and dinner with me. And at Medusa Suites, the answer was yes to all three.

The real stay

The hotel

Aegean beachfront where dogs sit at breakfast and pool lounges

Small Cycladic resort directly on Plaka Beach, about 20 minutes from Naxos town. Beachside pool and palm garden with outdoor alfresco breakfast and beach-pool dining. Dogs welcome everywhere outdoors, including at table-service breakfast until 11am. No pet fee, no restrictions on outdoor access.

Complete freedom in all outdoor areas and full inclusion at breakfast. Daisy was welcome at the breakfast table, lounging by the pool, and playing on the beach. That simple gesture of treating her as a guest rather than a tolerated animal is what makes Medusa special.

What we noticed
Arrival

Arrival at Plaka Beach was warm. Staff greeted Daisy by name and had already confirmed she was welcome at breakfast and throughout the property. No surprise restrictions or fine print, just genuine hospitality.

The room

Deluxe Room with two-level villa layout. Standalone space with upstairs and downstairs. The room was an odd setup that wasn't actually luxury, even though the resort itself absolutely was. Wooden plank stairs impractical for Daisy and felt more quirky than elegant. Only a handful of villa-style rooms at property. Wouldn't recommend this room layout except for couples. Two-level design splits living space across floors. Doesn't feel like luxury experience for the price. No plush robes, no duvets (just basic blankets), no room service. No dog bed, no bowls, no welcome treats provided, bring your own supplies.

Daisy's Note

Request a ground-floor suite if you have a dog with mobility concerns (avoid two-level villa rooms with plank stairs). Direct beach access is the highlight. Book Deluxe Room with breakfast via Booking.com, but avoid two-level villa layout unless you're a couple. Bring own dog bed, bowls, treats. Pack swimwear for immediate beach access.

Worth knowing

Two-level villa suites with wooden plank stairs, difficult for dogs with mobility issues. No special dog amenities in room. Room furnishings basic rather than luxurious. But honestly, these don't matter when your dog has access everywhere you go. At most pet-friendly hotels you're restricted to your room for breakfast and maybe designated outdoor areas. Here Daisy was welcome everywhere I was welcome.

Walkability

Directly on Plaka Beach with immediate access to crystal-clear Aegean waters and private loungers exclusively for hotel guests. Never trouble getting sun beds at any time, no stress, no towel-saving drama, no racing for spots. Pool area where dogs are completely welcome (very unusual!). Daisy is more of a sophisticated wader than a swimmer, took to an inflatable float like a natural yacht owner. Naxos has so much to explore that I barely spent time at hotel beyond sleeping and breakfast. Out morning to evening every day exploring hidden beaches, mountain villages, ancient temples, restaurants.
