“A boutique hotel inside a restored palace on Plaza de Pombo, in the middle of Santander's shopping streets and a few minutes from the bay. It's the handiest dog-friendly base for anyone driving off the Portsmouth or Plymouth ferry, which docks a short drive away. Rooms are classic in style and the square outside is pedestrianised. The Soho group runs a written dog programme with a welcome kit, so the rules are clear before you arrive.
