Most dogs heading home to the UK or Ireland get the tablet in France. Vets near the ports know the drill, and plenty book online through Vetolib, MonRendezVousVeto or CaptainVet.
What it costs in France
€30 to 60
- Vets close to Calais and Coquelles tend to charge €50 or more. Market-town vets inland are often cheaper.
- Many French vets close from 12:00 to 14:00, on Sundays and on public holidays. Some village vets only take cash.
- Time it for the window. The tablet has to go in at least 24 hours and no more than 120 hours before you arrive.
