“A riverfront hotel on the Duna-korzó between the Chain Bridge and the Elisabeth Bridge, where every guest room faces the Danube and the Buda hills behind it. It has stood here since 1969 and has been fully renovated, with a rooftop bar and grill on top. The published limit is 30kg for up to two pets, which puts it among the few central hotels that will take a proper sized dog. It suits people who want the river view without paying five star rates for it.

Why it's in the collection

The Duna-korzó promenade is directly outside, so you get a flat car-free kilometre along the river between the two bridges before breakfast. Cross the Chain Bridge and the Várkert Bazár gardens add another long stretch on the Buda side.
