The hotel sits on the Ostend promenade, so the first walk is the sea dyke itself, running west towards Mariakerke. Dogs can be on the main beach all day from 1 October to 31 March, and before 10:00 or in the evening the rest of the year. The Klein Strand by the harbour mouth, about 1 km east, takes dogs on the lead all year. Leopoldpark is about 400 m inland for grass and shade.
