Porthminster Beach is at the bottom of the hill and the coast path round to Carbis Bay starts beside it, but Porthminster closes to dogs from 10am to 6pm between 15 May and 30 September. Bamaluz Beach in the middle of town and Porthkidney Sands at Lelant have no restrictions at any time of year, and both are within about two miles.
