Tradition Julen Hotel

Chalet-style spa hotel that welcomes dogs, plus its own sheep

This hotel is part of the Daisy Curated Collection. Its information has been researched and verified, but Daisy has not yet personally stayed here. When she does, this page will be upgraded to a full Daisy Verified inspection.

Daisy's Assessment
Researched and verified. Not yet personally stayed.
A family-run four-star superior in traditional Valais chalet style, panelled in spruce, with two restaurants and a three-storey spa and pool. It suits families and couples who want alpine character close to the station and lifts. A distinctive touch is the hotel's own blacknose sheep, with barn visits in winter.

Why it's in the collection

Winkelmatten and the Matter Vispa path are on the doorstep, and the walk towards Zmutt is a calm choice. Keep dogs on a lead near the hotel's sheep and any grazing livestock.

Best suited for

Dogs only, welcome in rooms but not in the dining room.

The open question

How the welcome translates in person, at dinner and around the hotel. That's what a Daisy stay will confirm.

Dogs only, allowed in rooms with food and water bowls provided, but not in the dining room. Zermatt is car-free, so park in Täsch and take the Matterhorn Gotthard Bahn (12-minute ride, every 20 minutes) or an e-taxi. The hotel is a few minutes on foot from the station and valley lifts. The spa and pool were being renovated during 2025, so confirm current status.

Where we can't yet confirm a detail first-hand, we mark it plainly rather than guess. A Daisy stay will close every gap.
