Eating out in Vienna with a dog

Restaurant staff bring water before they bring the menu, shops don't blink at a dog under your arm, and we never once felt Daisy was an inconvenience. Five restaurants in three days, every one of them welcoming. Plachutta zur Oper and Café Landtmann were tens, and at Zum Schwarzen Kameel Daisy took over the blanket on the terrace.

Questions people ask

Which restaurants in Vienna let dogs inside?
Café Landtmann, Café Sacher Wien, Eugen21 and Aurora Rooftop Bar, Hyatt Regency Vienna (formerly Andaz Vienna am Belvedere), Figls, Neue Hoheit Restaurant and Bar, Rosewood Vienna, Plachutta Wollzeile, Zum Schwarzen Kameel and Café Central let dogs inside, from the restaurant's own published policy or a visit by Daisy. Check with the restaurant when you book.
What does "not confirmed" mean?
We couldn't find the restaurant's dog rule in writing and haven't eaten there with Daisy, so we haven't guessed. Many will say yes, so ask when you book.

Ring or message before you go

This is a research tool, not the last word. Restaurants change hands, managers change their minds, and a place that takes dogs at lunch can say no at a busy Saturday dinner. Every listing shows where the answer came from and when we checked it. Confirm with the restaurant itself when you book, and tell them you’re bringing your dog.
